BAR CARD

Today I registered with the San Bernardino County Bar as a student member. I feel like I'm now officially a law student.

I finally got through A Civil Action. While the first part of the movie was interesting, the ending was a bit disappointing. The syllabus for the Law Fundamentals warned that some of us might find the ending disappointing and frustrating. I guess that was what the advisor meant by "law in the real world."

So after that, I decided I needed to do something that pointed me back in a positive direction. So I went out to the County Bar website and filled out the online application. If I send in a picture, I will even get an official bar ID card with my law school and expected graduation date printed on it. Coool! My membership was almost automatically approved (it would have taken longer if I'd actually had to pay dues. Lucky for me - students get to join for free, as we have not passed the bar and are not eligible to vote.)

So now I'm off to the calendar to see what meetings and events are happening in November.

Happy Friday!
